The 32nd ECDO Conference “Death on the Beach: Cell Death & Disease” will gather the international cell death community in the unique setting of the Ex Stabilimento Florio delle Tonnare di Favignana e Formica, on the island of Favignana in Sicily, for four days of intense scientific exchange and networking. The program will open on Wednesday 16 September 2026 with registration, a formal welcome by the organizers and a high-profile session on cancer immunology, followed by a convivial welcome cocktail that will set the stage for informal interactions among participants.
Across the following days, the meeting will offer a rich sequence of thematic sessions that span protein degradation, cancer immunology, the full spectrum of cell death modalities, metabolic control of cell fate and the emerging frontiers of precision medicine, combining keynote lectures, invited talks, short talks and flash presentations to ensure visibility for both established leaders and young investigators. Dedicated moments will include CDD Awards, the Jürg Tschopp and John Kerr Prizes, poster sessions, ECDO Board and Assembly meetings, as well as editorial board activities, underscoring the strong link between the conference, the CDDpress.
The final day will highlight the translational impact of cell death research through two sessions on precision medicine and a special “HEAL ITALIA” Lecture, emphasizing how advances in cell death, metabolism and immune regulation are essential to design more effective and personalized therapies. Scientific sessions will be complemented by the Gala Dinner, offering further opportunities to strengthen collaborations and build new partnerships in a relaxed and inspiring Mediterranean atmosphere.
